After Searching for my Beloved

After Searching for my Beloved

Shattered in tears
I left Damascus
The once home to him
I confessed on that threshold
That my Love killed you
My lust for fame was at last quenched
When the well drank
Your blood
My schizophrenic thoughts
Ventured far beyond Mt. Kaf
My dark soul
Usurped the Protector
They called me mystic
While I was dancing in fear
My namesake turned nemesis
Disclosed my secret
O Rumi…
Shield me from myself

The Land Stained Yellow

The Land Stained Yellow

In my utter despair
When on the brink of destruction
I saw a path
Heading towards my eternal dream
My Soprano –my peace; then,
I lost my audacity
And slept on the rail line:
I hide myself
In red duct tape room
To find my eerie solace
In blasphemous books
Crying for the last cootamundra wattle
Inside my heart
O mountains be merciful
To the new madman in town
